2D animation focuses on creating characters, storyboards, and backgrounds in two dimensional environments. 2D animation uses bitmap and vector graphics to create and edit the animated images and is created using computers and software programs, such as Adobe Photoshop, Flash, After Effects, and Encore. These animations may be used in advertisements, films, television shows, computer games, or websites.
Vector-based animations, meaning computer generated 2D animations, uses the exact same techniques as traditional animation, but benefits from the lack of physical objects needed to make traditional 2D animations, as well as the ability to use computer interpolation to same time.

Storyboard
Graphical representation in the form of illustration, images, character, motion pictures & motion graphics. A visual outline of a video. It may be compelling or simple.
When you have a storyboard, you can show people exactly how your video is going to be mapped out and what it will look like. This makes it infinitely easier for other people to understand your idea.
A storyboard is similar to a script, but the two aren’t quite the same – storyboards are visual, while scripts are text-based.
